I can finally say those words and believe them! I’m running at 4 miles a day, which may not seem like a lot, but I am actually enjoying it when I do run. I’m to that point! I’ve craved to be there for a really long time. To feel like my day is not complete without a run. Loving how it feels when I run and loving the challenge of doing it. And I love the feeling I get when I’m done. And I love the shape my legs are getting in, the changes I’m seeing. I get excited to see how far I can go one day or how fast. And now I’m doing 2 5ks in September.. I’ve never done one before and I am finally confident enough with my running to do them! I’m excited to see what else my running has in store for me.
I’ll take it! Especially after a week of no running and eating not so great… :/ Maybe it’s my body telling me I have lots of extra calories to burn, but I haven’t run this far since high school! 6 miles… :)
It’s 1 pm, I got up at 9, ate breakfast, lounged for a bit, then 10:45 hit the gym. Ran 3 miles then did 45 min of walking on a high incline. I’m eating some soup now for lunch, later I plan to eat 2 chicken breasts with rice for dinner. I really need to get more protein in my diet. I’d like to try some protein powders, but usually when I do, I don’t like them.. haven’t found the right one yet I guess..
Anyways.. Soup, then shower, then kicking myself into beast study mode for the rest of the day. Gotta do well on my Peds/OB exam Monday.. Eek! I feel bad though, my dad really wanted me to come home tonight to help with his work party at our house, but I need all the time I can get to study for this exam, so I had to turn him down :( He’ll be fine, my whole family will be helping out, but I know he really wanted me to be there. Oh well. Gotta get through Thursday, then home for a bit at last!
I started out a few weeks ago running 3 miles and doing a very fast walk on the treadmill 30 min on a 15.0 incline. I’ve slowly been increasing the time on my walks to 40-45 min. Today I ran 3 miles, did a whole hour of the fast walking, then ran another mile to see if I could (I wanna get up to 5 miles of running a day, when I do, I def won’t walk as much). By the middle of the last mile of running, it hurt a little but I thought I’d push through bc cardio hasn’t made me sore in a while. Was that too much? How do you define “too much cardio”?
Hit the gym with Dad.. we both had a killer workout. He walked fast on the treadmill and lifted and I ran 3 miles and walked on a high incline.. All in all, I burnt 800 calories. Just had soup for lunch! Healthy healthy day. And in a few hours, I’m heading to the park for another run. I wasn’t going to, I’m pretty tired, and I worked HARD at the gym. My main reason for not wanting to go was I didn’t wanna hold her back. I don’t know how slow I’m gonna go or how far I’ll make it. However, she reassured me that she hasn’t run in over a month and she felt the same way. I told her we should shoot for 3, but definitely do 2. So in about an hour, it’s on! Hopefully it’ll put me up to 5 miles today, but I’ll post after to let ya know how it goes. :)
Went for a run today and did 2 miles, not anything crazy, but not too shabby! I had a huge lunch at our local Mexican restaurant, so I wasn’t too hungry for dinner. I had a bowl of chili and crackers, so not too bad I guess. I’ll get back, I hate falling out of the workout habit, but with school and work it’s so easy to!
In other news, I’m spending my weekend and part of next week in my hometown for my fall break. It’s getting me away from my school area, and giving me plenty of time to relax! I’ve been studying bits and pieces for my Thursday’s med/surg exam, but tomorrow I’m gonna start taking notes off of my notes about things I’m not 100% sure on. Basically condensing my notes to a page or so. I’m PLANNING on at least going for a run tomorrow, but we’ll see.. I might even go to the gym. Other than that, I’ll be studying for my exams and relaxing, I need the break.
Also… I’m considering changing my blog from having a set WEIGHT goal, to just a blog about being fit, healthy and bettering myself in general. If I make it to my goal, great! But this way, I would be able to focus on just having a healthy lifestyle, not so much losing weight.. food for thought. :)

Story off my life currently and will be for the foreseeable future. Not complaining though, its all good :)
Followers, I have a question.. I bought a pair of nike running shoes about a month ago and I figured I would need time to break them in.. but they’re still giving me blisters really badly on my left foot! Is it the shoe? Will that stop happening? I feel like I should have broken them in by now with all my running since I bought them. Should I buy new ones again? What do you guys think?
I did my first 4.27 at a 9:11 min pace. Man, today was awesome. I had to stop though because my shoes were giving me blisters, but then i started again and jogged the rest of my last mile at about a 10 minute pace, easy peasy. I’m so excited I’m finally getting into shape and transforming myself into a runner! Also.. for the record, fall is my favorite season TO run in :)
